چکیده
Purpose: To study the determinants of glaucoma therapy escalation (GTE) after Descemet-stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) for pseudophakic bullous keratopathy in an eye-care hospital Saudi Arabia. Methods: This nested case-control evaluated patients who required medical or surgical treatment controlling DSAEK (defined as GTE; GTE group). A group did not require any intervention post-DSAEK served controls (control Data were collected on preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative parameters DSAEK. Variables compared between groups to evaluate risk factors graft failure. Results: The sample comprised 117 eyes (40 77 control Glaucoma was present 20 (17.1%) before median duration follow-up 27 months [Interquartile range (IQR): 24; 42]. PURPOSE To compare clinical and confocal scan outcomes after Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) performed for Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy (FED) versus pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK). METHODS This retrospective comparative study included 47 consecutive eyes of 39 patients with the diagnosis of FED (n = 29, group 1) or PBK (n = 18, group 2) that underwent DSA...

PURPOSE To report the outcome of Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) for bullous keratopathy after Sato anterior-posterior radial keratotomy (APRK). METHODS The clinical records of patients who had DSAEK surgery for bullous keratopathy after APRK were reviewed. RESULTS Five eyes of 4 patients (4 men) were included. The mean age at DSAEK surgery was 81.8 ± 7.1 years...

متن کاملDescemet-stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty for vitrectomized cases with traumatic aniridia and aphakic bullous keratopathy
The surgical indication for Descemet-stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) is largely limited to phakic or pseudophakic cases of endothelial dysfunction with normal pupils, because the endothelial lenticule is generally attached to the recipient cornea by use of gas tamponade into the anterior chamber. Although it may be desirable for vitrectomized cases with aniridia and aphakic...

PURPOSE To report the 2-year follow-up findings in a patient with buphthalmic bullous keratopathy (BK) who was successfully treated with non-Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (nDSAEK). METHODS A 39-year-old man had an endothelial graft of 8.0 mm diameter placed uneventfully using the nDSAEK method for phakic BK with buphthalmos of the left eye. He had had a penetrating ker...
